Red Rings, Black Connections

About the work

Red rings and broken patches cover almost the whole white field. A black system of circles, dots and connecting lines lies across them. A wheel-like junction with radiating extensions dominates the upper half; below it, a large oval contains small rings and leaves. Heavy dark curves intersect fine outlines and short crosswise strokes.

Density changes down the composition. Red fragments the ground above, while the pale interior of the lower oval gathers the smaller signs together. White openings separate neighbouring elements even in the busiest areas. Rough red marks and even black lines distinguish the colour field from the carefully outlined graphic structure.
