Tower of Small Signs

About the work

A narrow upright structure is assembled from circles, dotted rows, crosses, zigzags and short crossbars. Several circular nodes within it resemble small faces. Some lines follow a rectangular boundary; others extend beyond it: a horizontal chain reaches left, a kink rises above, and a slender branch with a round tip projects to the right.

The density changes from top to bottom. The upper section is more angular, larger circles organise the middle, and fine dots fan out below. The wide pale field emphasises the compactness of this structure. Each passage invites separate attention before the eye reassembles the upright whole. Connections and nodes suggest a technical diagram, yet uneven intervals and freely ending lines maintain an independent ornamental rhythm.
