About the work
A tall narrow figure is built around a sharp difference between fine contours and broad black marks. A row of small buttons descends along pale clothing, with hands hanging loosely at the sides. The lower section is much heavier than the upper: dense strokes on the legs extend into long pale strips and dark feet. An isolated black spot on the left interrupts the space around the torso.
The vertical movement is not entirely straight. The legs curve slightly, clothing edges break off, and the arms hang differently. These small deviations animate an almost motionless frontal pose. Sparse buttons set a slow rhythm that gives way below to broader, quicker marks. The figure reads both as a human silhouette and as a sequence of varying pressures assembled along a single axis.
