About the work

Rectangular bodies, square heads and slender connections form a dense network on a warm ground. Eyes, rows of teeth, grids and short round-ended projections recur in the central group. Radiating discs, branching forms and smaller characters surround it. Even the most crowded passages preserve unfilled openings: lines interlock without becoming a continuous dark mass.

The composition develops in several directions at once. Right angles establish a firm framework that spirals and radial branches interrupt. Heads resemble parts of a shared structure, yet differences in their eyes and mouths restore individual expressions. Abrupt shifts of scale move attention between the whole network and a small face within it. Empty intervals precisely separate adjacent figures.
