Assembly of Rectangular Faces

About the work

Rectangular faces crowd the upper part of the sheet, overlapping at different heights to form a stepped outline. A narrow pointed figure extends to the right. Below, heads and small characters stand farther apart among arcs, arrows and crosshatched lines. A large face on the right balances the dense upper cluster without repeating its geometry.

The drawing alternates concentrations with pauses. In the packed group, eyes and mouths become a repeated ornament; in the open field, individual expressions register more clearly. Arrows suggest several reading directions, keeping the composition from becoming a sequential scene. Upright figures, broad curves and tiny triangles connect the separate episodes through a mobile network.
