Walk past a Flower

About the work

A tall narrow figure stands left of centre, with several smaller silhouettes bearing round heads arranged to its right. Long slanting bands and fine looping lines cross them. Transparent towerlike forms rise on the left, while broad curves pass overhead. A flower stands separately in the lower right corner: a circular head, short surrounding marks, a slender stem and two symmetrical leaves.

Oblique directions set the scene in motion although the figures themselves are almost still. The flower provides a clear pause among the intersections: its simple structure remains distinct from the surrounding drawing. Differences between the large figure, smaller companions and foreground sign introduce several scales. Open areas below emphasise the extent of the diagonal route through the composition.
