Faces in a Shared Loop

A large face on the left is surrounded by other heads set within ovals of different sizes. Some look straight ahead; others tilt or turn. Small figures and additional profiles appear between them. Arcs intersect, embrace neighbouring forms and return to earlier passages. Dense hatching reinforces individual eyes and cheeks, while pale intervals keep even the smaller faces legible within the crowded composition.

There is no single position from which the whole drawing settles into a fixed view. The large left oval first attracts attention, then carries the eye towards the tilted central head and the portrait on the right. Repeated faces establish a rhythm of proximity and turning. Shared lines connect the figures, while differences of angle, size and expression preserve their individuality.
