About the work

A large face with long hair occupies the upper portion of a vertical sheet. Dark strands frame the sides, while additional angular contours cross forehead, nose and cheeks. A long neck descends from the chin, with two round-petalled flowers at its base. Shoulders and chest are drawn more loosely; soft grey tone gathers below, leaving the facial features largely linear.

Repeated outlines fail to coincide, creating tension between the head’s stable position and its shifting features. Heavy vertical strands contain this internal network without completely closing it. The flowers introduce a clearer, more regular pattern, separating the head from the pale area below. Changes in pressure contrast dense outer hair with fine crossings inside the face.
