About the work
This concept for a monument to Yegor Letov is built around an elongated vertical figure and a restrained granite base. Recognisable features of the musician are incorporated into a unified silhouette intended to be read from a distance and from different sides.
The relationship between the figure’s modelling and the pedestal’s geometry is central to the proposal. Turns and irregularities of contour contrast with the calm planes of stone. This is a proposal for public space in Omsk; the images present the monument’s design.
The design dates from 2024. Proposed materials are patinated bronze and polished granite. The concept specifies a 7-metre figure and an overall height of 8.2 metres including the pedestal.
