About the work
Broad black bands form a dense network over a whitish and pink ground. Some marks stop abruptly; others merge into heavy patches. Pale intervals allow individual directions to remain visible within the overlapping structure.
The composition alternates between obstructed and open areas. At a distance, the rhythm of the dark masses dominates; close up, differences between strokes and layers appear. The title points towards this gradual reading of the image through its fragments.
