Flight

About the work

A pale figure with widely outstretched arms crosses a red circular plane. The body’s vertical almost follows the circle’s axis, while the arms establish a long transverse line. A small spiral sits above the head. Uneven edges retain variations in the mark, so the figure reads both as a recognisable body and as a flat area of colour.

The round format gives the figure’s position particular clarity. Its elongated body and spread arms are measured against the closed boundary of the surface, with the open red field making their reach more apparent. The small spiral balances the lower body and carries the movement upwards. Flight emerges through the relationship between silhouette, colour and the shape of the support.
