About the work
A crimson band crosses a dark field almost horizontally. Yellow splashes appear on either side, lengthening into a bundle of vertical marks on the right. The continuous line and scattered touches of paint establish two distinct rhythms.
The stable horizontal makes the surrounding movement more apparent. Despite its active surface, the composition remains coherent: a slender band of colour connects the edges of the large canvas and gives the eye a clear direction.
